About SoftRAID Lite App for MAC
SoftRAID Lite is a replacement for Apple’s Disk Utility RAID. SoftRAID Lite is based the full SoftRAID engine, with the only limitations being that SoftRAID Lite supports only RAID levels 0 (stripe) and 1 (Mirror) volumes, and does not have email notification or the command line interface. Tecchnical support for SoftRAID Lite is available on the SoftRAID forum.
SoftRAID Lite also provides “predictive disk failure”, where users are alerted to potential disk failures even before they fail. SoftRAID Lite allows you to create and manage disk arrays to increase performance and reliability. SoftRAID’s intuitive interface and powerful feature set make this utility a must-have for any OS X Server admin, “Pro” user, photographer, digital-video editor, or desktop user who wants more reliable backup for his computer.

New Features
Version 5.8.4:
New features:
- Adds a feature which warns the user if Secure Boot is enabled. This warning appears when the SoftRAID application is first launched, Secure Boot is enable and a SoftRAID disk is attached.
- Adds ability to sign up for the SoftRAID News email list.
- Adds a work-around for a kernel panic bug which was introduced in macOS 10.15. This bug causes a kernel panic when an HFS+ volume is created on a 4Kn HDD (a disk with 4 KB sectors) which is housed in a USB 3 or USB 3.1 enclosure.
- Adds support for OWC Mercury Elite Pro Dual U2 enclosures to SoftRAID XT and SoftRAID Lite XT.
Bugs fixed:
- Fixes a bug which could prevent the Mac from restarting after uninstalling SoftRAID.
- Fixes a bug which caused the SoftRAID application to be relaunched after a restart when the user had just uninstalled SoftRAID.
- Adds code to ensure that SSDs are always the primary disks in RAID 1+0 volumes which contain equal numbers of SSDs and HDDs. This code gets run when RAID 1+0 volumes are created and at the end of a RAID 1+0 volume rebuild.
