About SurfRabbit App for MAC
SurfRabbit is an add-on for the Safari, Shiira, NetNewsWire, DeskBrowse and WebDesktop that will allow you to customize how Web pages are displayed.
Find a page ‘too busy’? Don’t ever use that one column on a page of your favorite site? Content on a page is too narrow? With SurfRabbit, you can easily fix it with a click!
You can also specify custom style codes to further customize the page. Pages can be customized individually, or you can apply your customization to a whole site, a portion of a site, or only a selected group of pages.

New Features
Version 1.2.3beta: e’ve made a few changes on how SurfRabbit gets installed. First, we’ve created an installer for it, which can be run at any time to choose the applications for which you want to enable SurfRabbit. Secondly, the bundle for SurfRabbit gets installed at a system level Library folder for compatibility with Leopard, which means you’ll need to authenticate during the installation; this also means that SurfRabbit will be available to all users of the system, however they will still need to run the installer to enable SurfRabbit for their user account. This release also takes advantage of a few fixes in WebKit, which Safari 3 uses and is installed by default on Leopard and 10.4.11; as such, this release will only be compatible with 10.4.11 or above, but the older version for Panther users will still be available (but no longer maintained).
Installing Apps on MAC
Most Mac OS applications downloaded from outside the App Store come inside a DMG file. Like if you wanna download SurfRabbit for mac from this page, you’ll directly get the .dmg installation file into your MAC.
- First, download the SurfRabbit .dmg installation file from the official link on above
- Double-click the DMG file to open it, and you’ll see a Finder window.
- Often these will include the application itself, some form of arrow, and a shortcut to the Applications folder.
- Simply drag the application’s icon to your Applications folder
- And you’re done: the SurfRabbit is now installed.
- When you’re done installing: just click the “Eject” arrow.
- Then you can feel free to delete the original DMG file: you don’t need it anymore.

You don’t have to put your programs in the Applications folder, though: they’ll run from anywhere. Some people create a “Games” directory, to keep games separate from other applications. But Applications is the most convenient place to put things, so we suggest you just put everything there.
DMG files are mounted by your system, like a sort of virtual hard drive. When you’re done installing the application, it’s a good idea to unmount the DMG in Finder.
